Where does a book really start? It started with a questions I posed to Carolyn: ”Why don’t you write a book about women and work?” Carolyn and I like to say this project started with conversation and conviction.
When we started asking that question back in 2011, we knew there were thousands of books written on this topic of work, but we agreed that many of them shared a flaw: they usually had a one-sided viewpoint. We both knew this only led to a “one-size-fits-all” model for productivity when there were so many different components. We held a common conviction that God calls both men and women to work hard for His glory.
This book examines much more than the Mommy Wars or feminism– it explores the history, the nature and the lifecycle of work for all women. The Measure of Success is to be published February 1, 2014. You can buy a copy on Amazon.
From the book:
Should a woman work? Can a woman be feminine, godly, and ambitious? Is work only for women who need the income? Is there any sanctified ground between the stay-at-home mom and the aspiring executive?
Whether you are married or single, young or old, and whether you work inside the home or in the marketplace, Carolyn and Nora create a rich vision for fulfillment through an understanding of the compelling foundation for the biblical call of productivity.
